A chemical peel uses a carefully selected solution to exfoliate the skin. The strength and ingredients should be chosen for your skin type, the concern being treated and the amount of downtime that is appropriate for you.
Before your peel
Your practitioner may ask you to pause selected active skincare products before treatment. Tell them about any prescriptions, allergies, recent procedures or changes in your skin before the appointment.
Immediately afterwards
Your skin may feel warm, tight or sensitive. The amount of visible peeling varies, and more peeling does not necessarily mean a better result. Use only the aftercare products recommended for you and avoid picking or rubbing the skin.
Supporting recovery
Keep your routine gentle, moisturise as directed and use appropriate sun protection. Wait until your skin has recovered before restarting strong exfoliants or active ingredients.
A consultation helps determine whether a peel is suitable and which type best matches your goals.
